Projects

Miami International Airport (MIA):

ADA has extensive experience with MIA. The firm provided civil engineering designs for the Concourse "H" Terminal addition. The work included paving, grading, water and sewer designs. As part of this project, a drainage study was performed to determine the most efficient connection of the existing double 96 inch pipes to the canal in the area of the South Terminal Expansion. The firm also prepared construction documents for the connection of the double 8'x10' box culverts that will be installed to allow for backfilling of the canal in the South Terminal Area.

ADA provided construction administration and inspection services for the Ground Transportation Improvements (GTI) at the Southside Extension. The two-level roadway project included a new sanitary pump, water main construction, drainage, lighting and fire protection. The upper drive is a steel bridge structure with a concrete deck and asphalt pavement. The foundation consisted of auger piles and pile caps. The work also included construction of retaining walls for the off ramps from the upper level .

ADA was the principal consultant in the preparation of the New Northside Runway Project Book. The work included preliminary pavement sections for the runway, taxiways, connectors and interior service roads, drainage, demolition, lighting, pavement markings, signage, navigational aids and constructing phase plans. The project book was used as the base document by Miami-Dade County to help secure over one hundred million dollars of FAA funds to help finance the new runway. ADA was also responsible for preparing the proposed development agreement, vesting rights application, and other documents associated with an application for developmental approval for a development of regional impact (DRI) at Miami International Airport that will allow the construction of the new Northside Runway.

Opa Locka General Airport:

ADA was responsible for studying the future development at the airport to determine if the Development of Regional Impact (DRI) process would be required. After the study showed that a DRI was required, the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) authorized ADA to negotiate a Preliminary Development Agreement (PDA) for the future development.

Homestead Airforce Base:

ADA participated in the stormwater master plan study, which included the military and civil sections of the base. The work consisted of basin delineations for pre and post development conditions, stage-storage calculations and preparing color CADD drawings. ADA also prepared a report and cost estimate assessing the improvements needed to upgrade buildings turned over by the military to Miami Dade Aviation Department (MDAD). The upgrades were primarily due to meeting compliance with new codes and regulations.
